Upma is a popular South Indian Breakfast recipe.Vermicelli upma is a simple and fast and easy breakfast recipe.
Ingredients:-
vermicelli 2 cups, roast in ghee till golden brown
onion-1 sliced long
green chillis chopped-3 chopped
chopped ginger-1 tea spoon
coriander -leaves
Curry leaves-2 springs
Cashew nuts-1 tbsp
Lime Juice-1 teaspoon
Chana Daal-1/4 teaspoon
peanuts-1 tbsp teaspoon
Urad Daal-1/4 teaspoon
Cumin Seeds-1/4 teaspoon
Mustard Seeds-1/4 teaspoon
water-3 cups
salt-to taste
ghee-11/2 tbsp
How to prepare:-
- In a vessel heat teaspoon ghee add vermicelli roast till golden light golden color on a slow flame and keep it aside.
- In the same vessel add oil,mustard seed when mustard seed splutters add chana daal,urad daal,cumin seed,cashews and curry leaves.Saute for a min add chopped ginger,chillis,onion and saute lightly.
- Add water bring it to boil.
- When water starts boiling, add the roasted vermicelli.
- Cover with a lid and cook on low flames.Mix it one more time after 1 min.
- Now add lemon juice and chopped coriander and cook for another 5-6 minutes until it is done.
- Serve hot with coconut chutney.
