- Fish-500 gm pieces or 1 LB
- Turmeric powder-1/2 teaspoon
- Chilli powder-3 or 31/2 Teaspoons
- Curry leaves-2 springs
- Ginger and garlic paste-1/4 teaspoon
- Coriander powder-3 teaspoons
- Green chillies-5
- Tamarind- lemon size(soak in hot water and extract the tamarind pulp)
- Salt-To taste
- Coriander-1/2 bunch
- Oil-5 Tbsp
- Onion- 1 medium size(Diced and grind to coarse paste)
Fish pieces marinating:-
- Marinate the fish by adding salt,chilli powder,1 tablespoon of oil,coriander powder and turmeric powder and keep it aside for 10 Min's.
- Heat oil in a non stick vessel or kadhai add, coarse paste of onion, chillies and fry till onion paste is slightly golden col or, on a medium flame.
- Now add ginger and garlic paste and curry leaves, fry for few more Min's.
- Now add marinated fish pieces and mix well.
- now add water to tamarind sauce and add into fish pieces until fish pieces are immersed.
- Check for salt, close the the lid and cook on slow flame for about 30 to 40 Min's until oil floats on top.
- Note :-Don't mix the curry with spoon or spatula, because fish pieces will mushy.instead of mixing with spoon carefully handle both side of the dish and rotate.
- Add coriander leaves and cook on a slow flame for few Min's, serve hot.
